This week, in white light, let me talk about Forgiveness. It is something very difficult to do and often misunderstood. We should know about it from the core, as practicing forgiveness is spiritual and the first step towards the path of spirituality. This is our journey together, yet alone, and to forgive others we need to forgive ourselves first.
We all know the famous saying ‘We take nothing with us when we die.’ Well, it’s partly incorrect. We take all the baggage with us; in form of our Karmas. I recollect an interesting real life story told to us by our Acharya. There was a couple who had a physically and mentally challenge child. They went to their Master and got the insight that in past incarnation the child was a jailor and the couples were the prisoners. Being a Jailor, the child gave a lot of emotional and physical torture to the prisoners. The couple hated the jailer to the core. They could not forgive him. So he was born as child to them. They had to learn to forgive and love the child. Well, each one had lesson to learn.
Coming back to the same sentence ‘We take nothing with us when we die’, towards our journey to enlightenment we take nothing with us. What goes with us when we die is just the pure form of the spark. Your divine self, your divine soul.
The true forgiveness is mastered with great difficulty, which is so dominant with resentment and long memories of past wrongdoings. The biggest problem is that we see our self as unworthy. It is very rare indeed to find an individual who feels himself or herself one hundred percent worthy. Some even go as far as to say that they are vile sinners, others adhere to the belief that all are conceived and born in sin. Then there are those who believe that once we break one commandment, you break them all, as faith is only as good as its weakest link in the chain. There are many such other beliefs. This sad state even exists in the best of families, and with the most intelligent and educated people, who will let a wrong ‘simmer on the back-burner’ until it flares up again because of another, perhaps innocent, trigger.
Humans need to become more mindful about the purpose of life, and the meaning of being alive, for this earth life is only the very beginning of the ascension journey to Supreme Prabhraman. It is totally up to you as to how you will experience this journey. Having a hardened heart, will only make the journey harder and often delay your progress. For this is what creative evolution is all about. It is nothing else but progress, and it depends on your dedication to learn and do the will of the All That Is. (Supreme God).
In words it very easy to say ‘I forgive you’, but year later the same issues comes to our mind. In my journey, I came across various proficiencies to forgive and ask for forgiveness which were not psychological counseling or psychological solutions but true spiritual practice.
Think of the person you hurt or have hurt you, isolate this person in your mediation, and instead of hatred send him love and blessings.
Master Choa Kok Sui, founder of Pranic Healing taught us about forgiveness. We learnt that there are two types of forgiveness, inner and outer forgiveness.
Inner forgiveness- The doer or victim may not be in front of you, still you can let go the matter and forgive or ask for the forgiveness. This is compulsory.
Outer forgiveness- This is optional. You ask for forgiveness or tell the person that it does not matter; the matter is forgotten and you are forgiven. Outer forgiveness depends on case to case basis. You forgive the person internally and cut the connection with them or keep distance or behave differently.
There is one very effective practice in Pranic Healing. It’s called forgiveness prayer by Master Choa Kok Sui.
PRAYER for ASKING FORGIVENESS.
Visualize the person in front of you.
“Atma....... Namaste.
I salute the divinity within you.
We are all children of God.
Children of the Supreme Being.
We all make mistake.
I Sincerely apologize for my mistakes.
I m truly sorry for the hurt and pain caused by me.
Please forgive me and let go the matter.
May the Supreme Being bless me with divine forgiveness.
May the Supreme Being neutralize my negative karma.
May peace be with you and me.
Om Shanti Shanti Shanti Om.”
Prayer to Forgive…
Visualize the person in front of you.
“Atma....... Namaste.
I salute the divinity within you.
We are all children of God.
Children of the Supreme Being.
We all make mistake.
I forgive you for the hurt and pain caused by you.
You are forgiven and the matter is forgotten.
May the Supreme Being bless you with divine forgiveness.
May the Supreme Being neutralize your negative karma.
May peace be with you and me.
Om Shanti Shanti Shanti Om.”
Please take a larger and longer view of life and the purpose of living here. There is grander vista’s awaiting. Wake up out of the illusion of unworthiness. Turn to the stillnesswithin and make your own God-connection. Walk the path of unconditional love and forgiveness, towards self and others in loving service. Humanity needs to rise up and become so much more than it presents itself as. A grand awakening needs to occur in the hearts and souls of everyone everywhere – that of knowing, accepting, and acting as a worthy child of the Creator God.
The Great Creator himself gave each normal-thinking person a spark of him in form of soul to help, to guide you towards him. And, please, do not dispute and judge among yourselves as to who is of normal mind, for each heart’s intent is known to God. You expect forgiveness from God, who would expect you to forgive others likewise, and that you learn to forgive all others, including yourself. To err is human, to forgive is divine. Right know that you are all equally loved in your individual journeys, as the God knows you better than you know yourselves. The journey is a magnificent journey, filled with opportunities to do what is good, and to learn to love more each day.
You do not have to be perfect in this incarnation; it is the grand scheme of the God, who has prepared for each mortal a journey towards perfection. Much thought and contemplation has gone into the planning, giving mortals every opportunity to choose how to conduct themselves, and which lessons to learn. Some learn easier than do others, but all have an equal opportunity to listen to that God-given Guide within. The sooner you discover that connection within, and learn to listen, the more guidance is available to you, even in the area of forgiveness. That Guide is in reality your eternal Partner -- your Pilot if you so choose – who carries your divine blueprint in It’s Being. It is always on duty waiting for you, to love you, and nurture you, and to forgive you according to your willingness to forgive.
Add the secret word ‘unconditional’ before forgiveness, forgive yourself, forgive all; as this is most dissipated way to explore the divine ‘White Light’.
